This year's exhibition, featuring works by approximately 20 Parkland College Fine and Applied Arts faculty in Art and Design, offers something for everyone, in such diverse media as painting, photography, drawing, metals, sculpture, digital, ceramics, design, and mixed media. Students and community members will enjoy the work, which mirrors the broad spectrum of art courses available at Parkland College.
Among the faculty participating in this year's show are Louis Ballard, Chris Berti, Marsha Daniels, Jennifer Davis, Larry Ecker , John Havlik, Bryan Heaton, Steven Hudson, Heidi Kellner, Robert Laible, Miriam Martincic, Melinda McIntosh, Craig McMonigal, Laura O'Donnell, Denise Seif, Peggy Shaw, Phil Smith, Joan Stolz, Matthew Watt, Kelly White, and Paul Young.
***High Noon with the Artist on Thursdays***
A series of art lectures has been planned to coincide with the exhibit, allowing faculty to discuss their work in greater detail. The lectures begin at 12 noon in the gallery; each should last about 30 to 45 minutes. The High Noon lecturers will be Bryan Heaton on Thursday, September 3 and Laura O'Donnell on Thursday, September 10.
Fall gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.; Monday through Thursday, 6 - 8 p.m.; and Saturday, 12 noon - 2 p.m. The Parkland Art Gallery will be closed Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day.
To find the gallery when classes are in session, we suggest using the M6 parking lot on the north corner of the campus. Enter through any door and follow the ramps uphill to the highest point of the first floor, where the gallery is located. The gallery windows overlook the outdoor fountain area.
